Data Migration Project for Telstra, major national Australian provider

This project has been successfully accomplished for a tier one nation-wide telco operator. The data migration accompanied implementation of inventory and service fulfillment platform and was a critical part for the overall success of the program. Migrated data included information on thousands of B2B customers and access infrastructure as well as full detailed information on the core network. Data sources were customer database (Excel spreadsheets), Customer Access database (Visio diagrams and Oracle tables), connections to core network infrastructure in LDAP-compatible directory, multiple Oracle databases on address information, equipment, services provided, service orders, billable items. In total using 15 legacy systems as data sources.

Database as big as over 400 tables was developed and used as an intermediate storage.

Data Migration procedure allowed data enrichment, i.e. enabling migrating data in parts.

Full cycle of data migration activities - from extracting legacy systems to loading into target system

Manageable, reusable process has been built to accommodate requirements.

Data Migration for Cablecom, a large Swiss Telco provider

Data migrated from 6 data sources. Over 100 tables as intermediate storage for data migration. Over 1000 B2B customer records with complex access structure. More than 30.000 equipment items. Total number of records over 1 million.

The implementation involved tight collaboration with major consultants in the field, like Accenture and IBM

Data Migration for a large VoIP and Internet provider in Norway - Ventelo

Information on all core transport and IP network, i.e. SDH, dark fibers, Ethernet infrastructure and IP equipment and links. Customer records and access for over 80.000 customers. VoIP infrastructure, IP and L2 VPN level, detailed equipment information.

XML data and Oracle tables were used as data sources.

Short project terms - only 6 month to fully accomplish the project.

Fully automated "one-button" process has been built, allowing future re-uses.
